Playtime Festival
Founder and Programmer
Natsagdorj “George” Tserendorj is a music producer, festival organizer and business executive with 25 years of experience in music industry. He is a founder and programmer for Playtime Festival, the music festival in Mongolia with legacy of 20 years promoting local and international creative music. In 1995, he co-founded Hi-Fi Records, a first chain of music stores in Ulaanbaatar and worked as a CEO of HMG Group overlooking distribution and publishing for over 200 Mongolian bands and artists.
The Playtime Festival, first established in 2002, aims to contribute to the sustainable development of Mongolia by bringing the capital city, Ulaanbaatar, to the level of a people-centered, top touring zone in Asia through modern music and creative cultural production.
The Festival is going to be held in its 21st year, at Mongolian Castle Recreation Center /Mongol Shiltgeen/, Gachuurt Village from the 6th to the 8th of July. The highlight of this year is the LINE-UP, of whom over 150 are from Mongolia, and 20 are from all over the world – the USA, South Korea, China, Spain, Great Britain, Germany, and Russia. Nearly 3,000 people from more than 150 trade and service, information technology, and cultural organizations will be working at the Festival. Most importantly, we are thrilled to announce that our headliners will be the world’s famous Cigarettes After Sex /Great Britain/, Carsick Cars /China/, Shortparis /Russia/and others. Not only international artists but also Mongolian bests, Nisvanis, The Lemons, The Colors, Mohanik, Night Train, and modern young stars and DJ artists will be there.
We are willing to contribute to shaping an eco-friendly lifestyle by introducing the concept of green development and responsibly sorting, reducing, and properly reusing waste, using renewable energy resources, and increasing its consumption within the scope of pursuing a green sustainable festival approach.
Moreover, about 200 volunteers will be involved to support youth participation in the welfare of society. To provide cultural, personal development, and other lifestyle needs of 21st-century youth, we are expanding our program called PLAYTIME+ to organize many interesting events such as podcasts like Unread, Speaking from the UB, and exhibitions of top modern artists, poetry readings, comedies, jazz and other popular band mini-concerts, meditation and yoga sections, psycho therapy sessions and more.
