Awang Samrow is a solo music project from Terengganu-born musician Fahmi Samsudin. Fahmi has been active in the local indie scene of Malaysia since 2014, being a vocalist for duo electro-pop band Kyogg (currently inactive) and funkedelic glam rock band Plong!. Hailing from the coastal state of Terengganu, he noticed a lack of Terengganu dialect lyricism in the modern music environment of Malaysia whether in underground indie or mainstream. He decided to pursue a solo music project adopting the stage name Awang Samrow to showcase Terengganu song writing and musicality. His childhood and upbringing spent on the East Coast state greatly influences the thematic elements and subject matter of his songs on his upcoming debut album “Pok Snahu”.
