Bel Certeza is a highly regarded figure in the music industry, known for her unwavering passion for live music and her exceptional contributions in bridging the gap between music fans and underground bands.
In 2010, Bel founded Indie Manila – a platform that supports and promotes independent music in the Philippines. Later, she served as a Road Manager for notable Filipino bands, including Autotelic, Taken By Cars, She’s Only Sixteen, IV OF SPADES, and The Itchyworms.
Between 2016 and 2020, she joined Homonym, the Philippines’ first and only Music Agency, serving as the its Event Curation Lead and Artist and Curation Manager, and also the Showcase Festival Curator of Sonik Philippines – the country’s first annual government-sanctioned Music and Business conference organized by the agency.
Today, Bel is the A&R Manager and Label Head of Island Records Philippines. overseeing a roster of talented artists, including Zack Tabudlo, Fern., dia maté, Over October, The Sundown, BLASTER, Zild, HEY JUNE!, One Click Straight, and Juan Karlos.
For sixty years, Island Records has been at the forefront of all the musical moments that mattered. One of the world’s most prolific labels, it has become a byword for artistic integrity and innovation, staying true to its long-established independent ethos by signing mavericks and game-changers who have altered the course of music in Britain, Jamaica, America and beyond. Island Records housed our today’s superstars Shawn Mendes, Demi Lovato, Nick Jonas, and music icons U2, Queen, and Amy Winehouse.
And finally, making waves in Philippine shores, the first of its regional branches in all of SouthEast Asia, Island Records Philippines is home to artistic music geniuses of this generation such as juan karlos, Zild, BLASTER, HEY JUNE!, Fern., KINDRED, The Sundown, Cheats and more.
In 2022, the label launched its first music festival to mark its second anniversary in the Philippines. The event – NOMAD Music Festival – featured live performances from 14 acts. The music fest was held at Venice Piazza McKinley in Taguig with over 30,000 attendees.
