Teguh Wicaksono is a creative marketer, media practitioner and a music enthusiast.

He has worked for companies such as Amazon, Netflix, Tiktok, Twitter, National Geographic, The Jakarta Post, Rolling Stone and BBC. His portfolio is an intersection between culture, media and technology.

Teguh won 2 journalism awards: Adiwarta Award in 2011 and UNESCO Fellowship 2012 when he was working as text editor for National Geographic. With Natgeo Indonesia, he led several expeditions for the iconic publication: South Java, Sumba and South East Asia. You can read some of his work herehere and here.

In 2012 together with his partner he co-founded Sounds from the Corner, Jakarta based archiving project documenting the local music scene and industry in Indonesia. Today, Sounds From The Corner has documented more than 300 artists and subscribed by 800K+ people.

In 2014, he graduated from Goldsmiths University of London under an international scholarship, MA in Digital Journalism. Teguh’s final thesis is titled “Modern Tastemaker” – a data driven in-depth piece that explores the impact of digital ecosystem among conventional record labels and music industry key players in the UK.

In London, he also worked as a contributor journalist for Rolling Stone and BBC World Service. His key publications including interview with the legendary Paul McCartney and various concert reviews (ColdplayField Day etc).

Teguh flew back from London to Jakarta to join Twitter in 2015, as one of its first employees in Indonesia. Leading partnership, he worked with various partners creating impactful creative launches: from the president of Indonesia, rock musicians, cultural landmarks to best-selling author.

In 2017, together with his now-wife he started Archipelago Festival, music conference & emerging talent festival in Indonesia. In its first year festival hosts total 16 panel discussions around music ecosystem, 5 global acts (UK, Poland Philippines, Malaysia and Singapore) and 9 local Indonesian acts.

Teguh moved from Twitter in 2017 to join as country manager Indonesia, which later named Tiktok post acquisition by Bytedance. Tiktok is now one of the biggest social media platforms in the world with a strong creative community focusing on gen-Z and younger demography.

In 2018, he moved to Singapore to join Netflix as its first employee for Indonesia marketing team, leading Editorial and Publishing for the streaming giant. Teguh kickstarted Netflix’s social presence in the market and worked through key business momentums for Netflix in Indonesia i.e: Telkom unblockingministry partnerships, the release of local Indonesian originals and so forth.

In 2022, Teguh accepted the offer to join Amazon Prime Video as Head of Social & Editorial for South East Asia. Similar with his past three roles prior to Amazon, he joined as one of the first hires in the region.

Teguh is based in Singapore.
