Tarsius is an electronic band composed of Diego Mapa on sampler and Jay Gapasin on drums. Their 2nd album, “Culture Cow” (Body Clock Records) has been named by NME Asia as one of the best Southeast Asian albums of 2020. Tarsius’ first single from “Culture Cow” called, “Agos” and “Disco Manila” is included in Four Tet’s official Spotify playlist. “Agos” was also played by U.K. electronic artist, MAPS (Mute Records) in his Sea Change Festival Mix 2020. Portuguese electronic artist, GPU Panic (Moullinex, Disco Texas) included “Agos” in one of his recent Spotify playlists.

Later in 2020, Tarsius also contributed the track, “Punla” in Manila techno/ house label— Sayaw Records debut compilation— “Sayawan, Vol. 1.” Debut, E.P.s, and Remixes From Tarsius debut album “Primate” (Numberline Records 2011), their track “Nightlife” has been played by Four Tet on the BBC Radio 1 and Boiler Room. He also played “Baluga 2000” (from Tarsius – Baluga 2000 E.P in 2015) on Rinse FM U.K. Electronic duo, Dark Sky (Monkeytown Records) included one of Tarsius’ tracks called, “AM” (Igado E.P., More Rice Records 2017) in one of their mixes on NTS Radio in 2017. “AM” has been remixed by Swiss DJ and Producer, Manuel Fischer in the “Igado” E.P. Tarsius in their earlier years, remixed a track from U.K. electronic band, Ladytron. The cut is included in a Record Store Day special release called, “Gravity Seducer Remixed” in 2013.

In Manila, Tarsius has opened for international acts such as Toro Y Moi (US), Ningen OK (Japan), Max Tundra (Warp Records U.K.), Free The Robots (US), and Delorean (Spain). Tarsius has graced international shows and festivals such as Intastella Burst presents Numberline Records in Hong Kong 2012, Clockenflap 2014 (Hong Kong), Mai Asia Festival 2015 (Osaka, Japan), Wonderfruit 2015 (Pattaya, Thailand), More Rice Presents: No Rice No Life Tour (Bangkok, Thailand), Malasimbo Festival 2015 (Puerto Galera, Philippines), Bime Pro Festival 2018 in (Bilbao, Spain), and their first headliner show, Flying Kick Asia Presents: Tarsius Live in BKK 2019, de Commune (Bangkok, Thailand).
