TONTRAKUL is an instrumental band that plays a combination of Isan (northeastern region of Thailand) folk with electronic music that is a combination of genres like electronica, worldbeat, nu-jazz, Isan folk and Mor lum (หมอลำ) – a genre birthed and most prominent in the Isan region.
The band was formed by Tontrakul Kaewyong who wanted to create new sounds for Isan music by experimenting Isan music with other musical genres, but still completely retaining its unique accent.
