From the Weather & Climate page, we know that the main climate category in Southeast Asia is tropical rain forest, which means rain throughout most of the year.  However, there are dry and cool periods during the year that are ideal for outdoor music events.

The region is split into 2 large climate zones, i.e. Northwest and Southeast with opposite wet/dry seasons, which means the music festival season for both zones are generally opposite from each other.

When compared with seasons in other parts of the world:

• The Southeast zone’s dry season corresponds with the summer/autumn seasons in the northern hemisphere’s temperate climate zone, which is peak season for outdoor music festivals.
• The Northwest zone’s dry season corresponds with the summer/autumn seasons in Australia, which is peak season for outdoor music festivals.
